Early Life

Born in Lagos, Nigeria, Victor Osimhen grew up in a football-loving family. His passion for the sport began at a young age, playing street football in his neighborhood. To further develop his skills, Osimhen eventually joined the Ultimate Strikers Academy in Lagos.

Club Career

  • Osimhen’s professional club career started at the Nigerian club Ultimate Strikers Academy. His impressive performances at the 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup, where he won the Golden Boot and Silver Ball awards, brought him to international attention.
  • In January 2016, Osimhen signed with German club VfL Wolfsburg. He made his Bundesliga debut in May 2017. Hindered by injuries and limited opportunities, he struggled to find form at Wolfsburg.
  • In August 2018, Osimhen joined Belgian side Sporting Charleroi on a season-long loan. His form improved, scoring 20 goals in 36 appearances across all competitions. Following this successful stint, he signed with Fren ch Ligue 1 club Lille OSC in July 2019. At Lille, Osimhen continued his upward trajectory, netting 18 goals in 38 appearances during the 2019-2020 season.
  • In September 2020, Osimhen transferred to Italian Serie A club Napoli for a reported fee of €70 million, making him the most expensive African player at the time. Since joining Napoli, Osimhen has been a crucial player for the team, displaying his goal-scoring prowess and versatility on the field.

International Career

Osimhen made his debut for the Nigeria national team in June 2017. He has since become a key player for the Super Eagles, representing Nigeria in various competitions, including the Africa Cup of Nations and World Cup qualifiers.
