Ghana DJs Award releases list of awarded DJs in Ghana. Organised by event production company Merqury Republic, the awards platform recognises and honours outstanding disc jockeys, music promoters and other contributors to the DJ culture in the Ghana.
Running under the theme, In the Mix Together , this year’s ceremony was preceded by a workshop at the Accra Tourist Information Centre on 20 November.
DJ Vyrusky, who led this year's Ghana DJs award nominations with seven nods, picked up the trophies for Artist DJ of the Year and Overall Best DJ of the Year at the Ghana DJs award.
This is Vyrusky’s third time winning the ultimate award, having won it consecutively in 2017 and 2018. Vryrusky beat off competition from colleagues DJ Aroma , DJ Sly and DJ Mic Smith to clinch the top prize.
He also reclaims the crown from 12-year-old Erica ‘DJ Switch’ Tandoh, who won the award last year. At this year’s ceremony, Tandoh was named Best Young DJ of the Year. Other winners on the night included DJ Vacation, DJ Toyor, DJ Ohemaa Woyeje and DJ Akel.
Meanwhile, the night witnessed musical performances from dancehall singer Shatta Wale, rappers DopeNation and Bosom P-Yung, and Wendy Shay.
